Royals Gaining Momentum Heading Into Tournament

Coming into the last weekend of conference the Royals have started to play some good baseball, and that continued facing Bottineau. It was a hard fought series that went back and forward in every game. Both teams going up and down and fighting back.

When you lose both first games on both days it makes it harder to come back and get the win in the second game but huge effort from the Royals to forget about the first game and kept fighting from behind in both to gain a split. Bottineau's pitching and offense kept the pressure high and made it tough to gain momentum and put huge scores on the board. Royals had to fight for each run with timely hitting and overall team effort at the plate, field and on the mound.

Cesar Bernal, Ryan Alain, Bryce Hunt and Jared Gesell really showed great presence on the mound and threw some of their best games of the year. Throwing strikes, and helping the Royals defense stay on their toes. Tyler Renken, Bridger Urban and Jon Lund came into relief and helped keep each game in the grasps. Best overall pitching performance from the Royals.

There are too many Royals hitters that helped this weekend series. Overall team approaches, and team hitting helped come from behind and take leads in each of the games.

Head Coach Kyal Williams said, "We have finally started to put all three aspects of the game together at the right time for Conference Playoff. It will be a great Tournament this year with every team able to maintain with each other. I am looking forward to the boys getting out there this weekend."
