The Lake Region State College Men's Golf Team traveled to Jamestown, ND to compete in the Jimmies Kickoff Golf Tournament. The Royals were one of two, two year schools in the tournament the rest were four year schools from the area and Canada. What turned out to be a beautiful day on the course saw a very up and down showing for the Royals.
Head Golf Coach Randy Fixen said, "We played pretty much bogey golf today, we had some good shots mixed in here and there but none of our guys ever really got it going." He continued, "We are a young team out there competing against four year guys playing on their home course, I was proud of our showing. Our goal is to continue to improve and be playing our best golf come time for the regional."
Austin Kozojed, a freshman golfer from Hillsboro, ND, led the Royals with an 87 which had him finishing in 29th place. Sophomore Casey Julson finished with a 92 and in 36th place. Freshman Nick Brockman shot a 93 and finished in 37th place and Freshman Bryce Sebelius finished in 38th place after shooting a 104.
