The Lake Region State College Royals Men's Golf Team traveled to Virginia, MN to compete in the Regional Tournament for a chance to qualify in the NJCAA National Tournament.
After day 1 sophomore golfer Casey Julson shot an impressive 79 which landed him in 5th place. Sophomore Jonathan Lund and Freshman Bryce Sebelius both shot a 107 good enough to be tied for 29th place.
Head Golf Coach Randy Fixen said, "I am happy with our start to the regional tournament. Casey went out there and stayed focus throughout his round. He played very consistent golf all day, he needs to continue that over the next couple days." He continued, "I think you will see a few lower scores out of Jon over the next couple days, he is just coming off an injury and I think he is working back to form. He did some good things out there today that he can build on. Bryce had a very good round as well, he will continue to get better and I expect to see him improve over the next two days."
Tee times for Day 2:
Jonathan Lund 9:00 am
Bryce Sebelius 9:10 am
Casey Julson 10:10 am
