A native of Greeley, CO, Jared Marshall just finished his third season as Head Coach of the Lake Region State College Royals. This will be Marshall’s fifth year overall after spending one year on the bench as an assistant. In his three seasons as head coach, the Royals have a 58-35 overall record. He has also coached 5 players that have been named All-MonDak Conference and All-Region XIII. Along with the on court recognition there has also been 9 players honored with NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards and 20 players named MonDak Academic All-Conference. The Royals basketball team has also been named as an NJCAA All-Academic team the past two seasons. The team finished 5th nationally in 2017 and 19th in 2018 for team GPA in the all of the NJCAA.
This past season, the Royals finished 50th or better nationally in 6 different statistical categories. The Royals also finished 4th in the nation in Defensive Rebounding and 15th in Total Rebounds. This is the third year in a row they have finished in the top 10 in Defensive Rebounding and top 20 in Total Rebounds.
Marshall spent two seasons, 2012-2014, as the Graduate Assistant at the University of Mary, which competes in the Northern Sun Conference, where he received his Master’s degree in Human Performance and Athletic Administration. Prior to that he served as head boys basketball coach at Frontier Academy High School in Greeley, CO. Marshall took over the program when he was 23 years old and directed the team to a conference championship and a state playoff appearance. He was also named Frontier Conference Coach of the Year in 2011.
He started his coaching career at Greeley Central High School as an assistant football (2007-11) and assistant basketball coach (2007-2010).
On top of his coaching duties, Marshall also serves as Assistant Athletic Director and teaches at Lake Region State College.
