In the final game of the regular season, the Royals hosted the UND Club Fighting Hawks on Sophomore Night, honoring their ten sophomores—who were also the only players to take the field in the game.
In the final game of the regular season, the Royals hosted the UND Club Fighting Hawks on Sophomore Night, honoring their ten sophomores—who were also the only players to take the field in the game.
The Hawks came out strong, launching a leadoff home run over the left-center fence and adding another run in the first inning to take an early 2–0 lead. The Royals quickly responded in the bottom half, using three walks and singles from Beau Brodina and Logan Dearborn to plate two runs and tie the game.
UND regained the lead with a run in the top of the third, making it 3–2 heading into the fourth. That's when the Royals took control. In the bottom of the fourth, they capitalized on three walks and four singles to erupt for six runs and build an 8–3 advantage.
The Royals added two more runs in the fifth, highlighted by a bunt single from Jamison Nelson and an RBI single by Lucas Lyons. The Hawks managed to score once in both the fifth and sixth innings, but the Royals held firm to secure a 10–5 victory.
Dearborn and Nelson led the offense, each going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Dayton Christensen also contributed with a strong 2-for-4 performance and a run scored.
With the regular season complete, the Royals now turn their focus to sub-region play, where they will face #3 Miles CC in Miles City, Montana on Saturday.
