Bio

Tucker Salander enters his second year as the lead assistant coach for the Lake Region State College baseball program. In his first season on staff, Salander helped guide the Royals to a program-record 11 conference wins, while also setting school records for stolen bases (115) and walks (186). His work with the team contributed to one All-Conference selection, one All-Region honoree, and two players moving on to four-year programs.

A former Royal himself, Salander played two seasons at Lake Region from the fall of 2019 through the spring of 2021 as a catcher and first baseman. During his playing career, he was a two-time Academic All-American, demonstrating the same commitment to excellence in the classroom that he now instills in his players.

In addition to coaching with the Royals, Salander is active in the local baseball community as a Babe Ruth coach in Devils Lake during the summer. He also serves as the Wind Turbine Technician instructor at Lake Region State College.

Originally from Larimore, North Dakota, Salander is a proud supporter of all things UND. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Olivia, and their daughter, Harper.
