The Royals volleyball team has come out strong to start the season. After the first week of play, the Royals have won 4 of their 6 matches and shown a lot of improvement early on in the season.
The season started with a trip to Bismarck for the Mystics Invitational. There, the Royals went 3-1, beating Jamestown JV, Mayville JV, and Miles Community College. Their loss was to a very strong Bismarck State team.
Following the BSC tournament, the team hosted 2 matches at home to open up the regular season. Their first match featured a tough 1-3 loss to Dakota College at Bottineau, but the Royals bounced back to beat a very scrappy Trinity Bible team in straight sets, 3-0. The Royals have shown a lot of fight and depth in their first week of play, and there is a lot of promise for this team.
Next up for the Royals will be a double-header in Jamestown on Saturday, August 27th before they had to Montana to play Rocky Mountain JV and Dawson Community College on Tuesday, August 30th in Glendive, followed by a trip to Miles City, MT to play Miles Community College. The next home match for the Royals will be Tuesday, September 6th when they host Williston State College at 7:00 at the DL Sportscenter.
