Royals Forward Dawson Peterson Signs with Concordia College in Moorhead
Royals 6'7 Forward, Dawson Peterson, who is from Gwinner, North Dakota signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Concordia College in Moorhead today. Dawson Started 38 games over his career, including all 31 during his sophomore season. He averaged 7.5 points per game for his career and 9.3 points per game his sophomore season. Dawson also averaged 5 rebounds per game for his career and 6 rebounds per game his sophomore season.
Dawson's career record at Lake Region State College was 42-20. He joins a Concordia team that went 16-10. He said that, "I am excited to be able to continue my career for the next two years at Concordia. I can't wait to see what the next two years has in store for me."
Head Coach for the Royals, Jared Marshall, said, "This is a great fit for Dawson as a player and a student. His skills being able to play inside and out is going to translate very well to what Concordia does. They will be able to utilize his talents and I think he will find a lot of success there." He went on to say that, "Dawson's will be missed. He brought a certain toughness to our program. Dawson always represented the program on and off the floor very well throughout his career. I enjoyed getting to know him and watching him develop as a player. I wish him all the best."
Concordia is a NCAA Division III school that competes in the MIAC conference.
Royals Forward Tom Kubank Signs to play with the University of Mary in Bismarck.
Royals 6'7 Forward, Tom Kubank, who is from Adelaide, Australia signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the University of Mary today. Tom started 53 games over his 2 year career here at Lake Region State College. He averaged 11.6 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game and shot over 48% throughout his career. Tom was a selected to the MonDak All-Academic team this past year.
While here at Lake Region State College, Tom helped lead the Royals to a 42-20 record. He joins a Mary team that went 19-12 and made the NSIC Conference Tournament Semi-Finals. Tom will be joining a few familiar faces to Lake Region State at Mary. Former Royals guard, who is also from Australia, Pat Thomas and former Royals Head Coach Joe Kittell. Tom said, "I am very excited to be re-united to play with my former teammate Pat Thomas. I also can't wait to play for Coach Kittell again. I look forward to what the future will hold for me as a Marauder at the University of Mary."

I think his best years are ahead of him. To be able to go into a new program and have some familiarity with the players and coach is going to make a difference." Marshall continued, "I feel great having coached such a solid player like Tom Kubank. He did everything I asked of him and more. I challenged him to grow, learn new things and he always rose to the challenge. I think Tom is one of those players that no matter what type of system he is in he will be able to adjust and make plays. I am happy I was able to get to coach Tom and be a part of his basketball career."

Royals Forward Ryan Clark Signs to play with Dickinson State.
Royals 6'8 Power Forward, Ryan Clark, who is from Adelaide Australia signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball for Dickinson State University. During his career Ryan started all but 1 game over his 2 year career, 61 total starts. Ryan averaged a career double double with 13.5 points and 10.3 rebounds. He is also Lake Region State College's all-time leading rebounder with 636. Ryan was an All-Conference, All-Region and a two time All-Academic team selection.
While at Lake Region State, he helped the Royals to a 42-20 record. He joins a Dickinson State team that went 13-16 overall last year and lost in the first round of the North Star Conference Tournament. Ryan said, "I am excited to starting this new journey in my basketball career at Dickinson State. I am looking forward to playing and learning under Coach Wetzel. I really hope we can do something special as a team in these next 2 years and I look to contribute any way possible to the team."
Head Coach for the Royals, Jared Marshall, thinks, "This is a great fit for Ryan. I think he fits into the style of play that they want to run. I have no doubt that Ryan is going to find success at Dickinson State and be an asset to that program." He continued, "Ryan has always represented our program very well and will continue to do so as he moves forward. He is not only an athlete but he is also an honor student for our school. He is a player I pushed harder and demanded more out of than anyone else on the team. He was our leader and worked hard every day. Ryan has had to deal with a lot over the years and he has only come out on the other end a stronger and better person."

Royals Guard Ajuda Nywesh Signs to play at TN-Martin
Royals 6'3 guard, Ajuda Nywesh, who is from Austin, MN signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the University of Tennessee-Martin. During his career Ajuda started 51 games, averaged 17 points per game, 4 rebounds per game and 3 assists per game. Ajuda had a breakout year this past season, scoring 21 points per game. Ajuda finished as Lake Region State's 10th all-time leading scorer with 1074 total points. He was also first team All-Conference and All-Region.
While at Lake Region State, he helped the Royals to a 42-20 record. He joins a UT-Martin team that went 21-15 this past season losing in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship and in the CIT Quarter finals. AJ says, "That he can't wait to compete at the Division 1 level. I am glad that all my hard work has paid off and I really appreciate the coaches at UT-Martin for giving me the opportunity to play for their program. My goal is to open up doors and give the youth back home inspiration to follow their dreams as well."
Head Coach for the Royals, Jared Marshall, said, "Ajuda is one of the hardest working players I have ever had the privilege to coach. His ability to shoot the ball and attack the basket is going to help him find success early. His athleticism and quickness will be an asset for him and I believe he has the ability to guard at a high level." Marshall continued, "Ajuda has had to overcome a lot in his life and has handled it as it came along. I believe that this has made him work harder to become a better basketball player but a better person as well. If Ajuda continues to work with that chip on his shoulder I can't wait to see the next step that his game takes. It am glad that I was able to help Ajuda achieve his goals and look forward to all his future success."
